Sunday in Seattle
Author: admin
We kept pretty busy this weekend. It was not a long one for Mike (although I’m not going back to work until tomorrow). Sunday we woke up to a beautiful and very very sunny day. We had already decided we were going to head down to the Pacific Science Center, and thought we’d stop by the Space Needle as well.
The Pacific Science Center had an exhibit I had been wanting to see – Lucy’s Legacy: The Hidden Treasures of Ethiopia. “Lucy” is a 3.2 million year-old fossil of one of our ancestors (Australopithecus afarensis for you nerds out there). Having learned all about her in a college class (and from my dad), I thought I should take advantage of the exhibit. Well, it was very cool to see “her” in person, although we were not allowed to take pictures.
We made our way through the rest of the science center. It’s a lot like CoSi, a little bit like the one in Cincy (although bigger and mostly for older kids.) It had an amazing butterfly conservatory, I have never seen so many butterflies in such a small space! I will put some pictures in my albums.
After the science center, we went over to the Space Needle. We have passes, so we like to use them when we are in the area. It was so nice to be up there on such a pretty day! You can see that for yourself.
Today was completely uneventful. I did not do what we are supposed to do on MLK day, so I will have to keep that in mind. Instead I worked and ran errands at Target, which reminded me that I need to stop going to Target on off-school days! Yikes, it was a zoo.
Tomorrow I go back to work for a couple of days. I’m ready for a routine again.
