Yummy pink stuff

It’s my turn to use the bloggy thing. Daddy got up very early today around my breakfast time and went to this place called “skiing.” Mummy went back to bed (of course). This allowed me to get all my barky time in this morning, so by the time Mummy finally got up and got dressed, I was all barked out. Matilda was playing in the dirty laundry — so annoying.

Anyway, Tilly went to her box and Mummy gave her a snack. Then she got all bundled up and got a big bag out and put some stuff in it. I sat and waited because I knew something was up.

She made me wear this special face collar that I told her I did NOT want to wear. I tried throwing a fit and got all tangled up in it, but I still had to wear it. At least we finally left the house.

We walked forever and ever until we got to where there were all these people and food places and dogs and all kinds of smells and sounds. We went into this special store where a nice lady kept giving me treats and they had all of these fun looking things. There were other dogs in there and people who told me I was cute — which, of course, I am! Mummy bought me a new necklace that had hot pink squirrels on it. Then when we got back outside, she bought me some flowers that smelled funny. She told me those weren’t for me.

I could tell we were headed back home, but we stopped at this other place first. Mummy tied me to something, and I did not like it. I sat really still while she was gone. (It took forever…) She finally came back out with a cup of that nasty drink and this little yummy thing with pink stuff on it!! AND she shared it with me — told me it was a baby cupcake. Oh my, it was so good. I ate it so fast I got pink stuff all over my face. I even ate this paper thing it came in. Mummy said I wasn’t supposed to eat that.

After the yummy pink stuff was gone, she untied me and we walked all the way back home. We had to stop on the way and pick up a “mess” that Mummy said I made on the way there. I didn’t remember that.

Anyway, I was so good. I did not bark at anyone. Not once! Hopefully I’ll be allowed to go next time. It’s even better without that other dog. She cramps my style.

This picture is from when we got home and I was tired. I asked Mummy to please not take a bunch of pictures of me in town because I didn’t want to look stupid.

I look so good in my new necklace, by the way. Mummy knows how much I love squirrels, and I hardly ever see them anymore. Night night, it’s time for my nap.

Valentine’s day

What’s that? Valentine’s day is not huge with us. I think it’s because of our winter is: Christmas, Anniversary, New Year’s, Mike’s Birthday — by the time Valentine’s rolls around we’re kind of low key. Our anniversary is a little more special. Plus, not everyone else in the city goes out on OUR anniversary. It’s just not worth fighting the crowds.

However, the other day, I poured my Silk in my coffee, and this heart appeared!! Mike said he did it. (Which is funny, because he wasn’t even home ;))

We are currently baking a heart-shaped meatloaf — yes, really.

Today we went gear shopping. Mike is going to go skiing tomorrow with some of the same people that are in the wine club. (I will be sleeping in and probably doing some laundry, maybe watching some girl movies!!!)

We also went out to the Vespa store downtown (near the old apartment). Mike’s blogged recently about the scooter he wants to get. He’s been planning on doing so for about six months. Now he’s all ready to take his training class in a couple weeks!

All that’s left to do is have a little more of this champagne and enjoy a Deathcake in a little bit ;)

Notte di vino!

Wine night! We had a wonderful time hosting our friend Leith’s wine club! A nice group of people came by to enjoy some Chianti and a little bit of Italian food. (We made some homemade ravioli and sauce.)

It was very nice to host a larger group of people (9 total, including ourselves.) We broke in the house a little bit! I got it super clean today ;) It won’t last! It looks so nice clean, though.

We ordered some deathcake royales… This would be the cupcake royale’s once a year specialty. You can only get them special order for two weeks around Valentine’s day! Don’t they come in such cute little packages? ;) (Disclaimer: Cupcake Royale is one of the most eco-friendly places around! These cupcakes just have special frosting and they pack them to go in these. Anyway, I washed the used containers and packed up leftover sauce in them. ;)

Now that everyone has left, I miss my puppies!! They are at doggy camp. It’s really weird to be at home and not have them here. We just can’t pick them up this late. We were just too worried about having so many people over we don’t know. And they hate to be shut up. It’s good for them to be socialized with all the other doggies, I think. They don’t get to play with other dogs very often. Now that the weather is getting nicer we need to get them back out to the doggy park!

Meanwhile, not just one but TWO of Mike’s siblings bought houses this weekend!!! Congrats Dan and Laura & Nate!!

Tilly…?!

More dog adventures. Or “dogventures?”

Anyway, we’ve gotten a new nickname for Tilly. It’s “Tilly?!” Okay, that looks the same. But a couple weeks ago there was an SNL sketch that wasn’t particularly funny, but it stuck. It was about “Gilly” and it just seemed similar. Except that Tilly never says “sorry.”

By the way, I updated the links page with some other new videos. :)

Same blog, new location.

I am now writing to you from a NEW laptop… Mike and I had talked about replacing my mac, which was his “old” mac for a bit now. He surprised me by ordering it last week. So, yay!

Everything is oh-so-much faster now. And I have a camera, which means I’ll be on skype more often. So that’s fun! I’ve already skyped with mom and dad. And it has a nice shiny new screen, which I’m sure Matilda will manage to lick just like on the old one.

So, it’s very exciting. I didn’t accomplish much else today aside from a couple random chores (washing curtains…) and ate a huge, authentic Italian cena (dinner) at a restaurant called Mondello.

And now I am off to bed.
