goose down sky, 2.0

Author: cortny

Yup, it looks different! Mike and I are doing new blogs. (It’s wordpress, Steve and Amy — aren’t you proud?)

Mike is WAY ahead of me. While i’ve been fooling with the design details, he’s written about the first three days of our trip. Go to www.mikehelmick.com to see what he’s got. I’ll do my own versions too. But his will likely be much more detailed.

If you want to just look at all our pics at once, they are here:

If you’re following me on an RSS feed, you’ll probably want to relink it.

Back from Alaska!

We’re back!! I’ll post more soon, and show you all the pictures. But for now we’re just happy to be home. We had a great time, saw some amazing things and met some nice people. The trip went very smoothy, no problems!

I’m also getting ready to design a new website. So I’ll be working on that tomorrow. I’ll get it up and running with some new blog posts soon.

Oh, Alaska!

I hope it’s gone by now, but when I was in high school there was a billboard between Batesville and Greensburg that said “Oh, Alaska ‘95.” I thought it was the most random thing. Mostly because I graduated in 1998, and it remained even after that.

Anyway, we leave tomorrow evening for Alaska! Likely this will be the last blog post before we leave. Go to Mike’s blog — he’s got all the info about our trip, like a virtual tour and a link to a ship tracker. In the event we have internet at some point (doubtful), I’m sure he’ll update it remotely.

Caitlin, I borrowed one of your pics from your trip to AK. Thanks!!

See you here in a week!

Busy weekend

I don’t have a clever title for today…

This was a BUSY weekend. Saturday night we headed out early to head to the Woodland Park Zoo for an Ideal Bite event I had. Signed quite a few people up, so that was good! Mikey looks cute sitting at the table.

Saturday evening we went to 4:30 yoga, followed by a trip out to U. Village to get Mike a couple things he needed for the cruise next week. He managed to find some AMAZING deals at Banana. Rosie would be proud of his bargains.

Today we walked up to the movie theatre to see Angels & Demons, which was a fun movie. (Book was better, but isn’t it always?) Then back home for some housework and dinner on the new grill!

Now, I’m tired. Stay tuned for Goose Down Sky 2.0. Mike and I are working on new websites!

Is it summer yet?

Author: admin

Look at me, I’m blogging again! Maybe I’ve been waiting for Summer… I think it’s almost here. Or basically here, with some lapses. It must be summer because we’re leaving on our trip in less than two weeks, we just got a new grill, I’ve ordered a couple of swimsuits (on sale already, of course…)

The new grill is awesome! We’ve been planning this grill a long time. It’s a fancy one! It’s called the Big Green Egg. It’s a wood charcoal (not the toxic briquettes,) grill/smoker/oven. It’s ceramic so it keeps heat really well and has temperature adjustment. I don’t know much else. I like it because it’s small, fits on the deck, is cute and doesn’t need a cover (because I think grill covers are so ugly and didn’t really want one in the front of my house.) Isn’t it cute?? ;)

In other summer news, my parents booked their vacation here for June!! I’m so grateful and thrilled that mom and dad are coming out again. I can’t wait.

We are going on our Alaska Cruise soon – we leave on the 22nd. That is also my last day of work at MBA, which has been fun and interesting. It’s fun to work in a housing-related industry, since I’ve been working for Amy B on the realty stuff. Gives me ideas for her blog, etc.

I’m also working on a wedding invite and have an Ideal Bite event on Saturday! When it rains, it pours. Seriously. Oh, and Tilly has an ear infection and is on her third week of medicine!

Mostly, I’ve just been tired! I’ll try to update again soon.
