Chai and cable TV

Author: cortny

I’m sitting here in bed with no new facebook or Twitter updates to read because everyone has gone to bed. And then I remembered I could blog from the phone. Hurrah.

Tonight I cooked some unfortunately tough pepper steak, and we started to get the house ready for some friends of mikes coming over on Sunday. I wanted to treat some cabin fever, so we walked uptown for a treat. We decided to check out the Chai House.

I enjoyed my first chai very much. (it’s a kind of spicy tea). Mine had chai, espresso, milk and chocolate :) hard NOT to like.

Oh, and we split a top pot maple bar. Donuts : always good.

I took a break from my Weeds marathon I’ve been enjoying and we started season 2 of mad men tonight — yay, the DVD finally came. Now if only big love would come out on DVD since we no longer pay for HBO. And we’ve never had showtime which is why I’m so behind the curve on weeds. Very fascinating and entertaining show.

Midnight- bed time. Mike and I go to our first Sounders FC game tomorrow.

Happy Birthday Dad!

dad on the scooter

Happy Birthday to my “dear old d.a.d.” today. He’s an oldster! Ha ha, just kidding. As far as I’m concerned my parents stopped aging a few years ago. I’d have to do some math if you asked me how old he is today.

Here’s a pic of dad enjoying Mike’s scooter during their visit a couple weeks ago.

Word has it dad enjoyed a bleu cheese burger for lunch and a grilled pork tenderloin for dinner. My guess is he’ll top off his birthday with a book and/or movie in the recliner and then an early bedtime…

This is an extreme Tilly close-up. This is how close she usually is to my face.

Last night she ate a dryer sheet… Today it was a pencil. Yes, she ate a pencil. Oh, Lord.

I always think it’s a phase… It’s about a 2 year phase by now!

Tilly Monster…

Happy 4th!

We had a fantastic fourth of July weekend! It was so great to have Mike home an extra day. Friday we started off with some morning yoga, and later we went out on the town on the scooter. (That’s when we came across the cinnamon roll – at Mae’s Phinney Ridge Cafe.) We took a ride around Green Lake, and the weather was absolutely amazing. Friday night we just grilled some veggies and went out for Ice Cream at the very popular Molly Moon’s.

Saturday I took the puppies for a very very long walk (in hopes of tiring them out… it only worked for one of them and I’ll let you guess who.) Later that night we grilled burgers (Mike’s really gotten good at those).

Last night we sat out on the porch to see the big Seattle fireworks, which was great. They shoot them off from Gasworks park. It was a great display.

Today we just relaxed, went downtown to check out some 4th sales, and I made some chipotle chicken for dinner.

Soon I will have some videos to post, now that I can take video on my phone! I just need to set up a youtube account.

Hope everyone had a great holiday!

Holy cinnamon roll!
