hdr_products_dog_pillpocketsGreenies Pill Pockets:

It is 2009. Why are these new? This is the most amazing invention ever, and I wish they have been around longer after all the meat wrapping and peanut butter spooning.

These treats are the consistency of play dough. They have holes in the middle, and you just poke the pill in and squeeze closed.

Ruby is rabid for these things. She begs me to give her her pill now (thanks, as usual, for the reminder Ruby). They’re a little too pricey to give them to Matilda at the same time, so she has to settle for a decoy treat when Ruby gets her pill.

If you have dogs (or cats!) that won’t take pills, TRY THESE! I have found them at Petco and Petsmart.

A typical evening

Ruby likes food. In the morning she wakes me up at about 7 (or whenever the first alarm goes off) and cries and barks until I get up and feed her. (Then it’s more of the same until she gets her pill/treat, and her bowl of water, and let out…)

Then it’s the same at dinner, the whole spiel.

Then right after that it’s ‘where’s my treat?’ Sometimes for as much as two or three hours a night she begs. And if I so much as get off the couch she’s like ‘okay! I’m ready! I’ll go over here so you can give me my TREAT!’

This is the video that follows that moment. Also known as ‘when I finally give in.’

She likes it!

Speaking of the Monster, I think she likes the new office. This is where I found her today!

Got an Amazon fresh order coming tomorrow, pre-dawn. This month’s everyday food had a lot of stuff in it that I wanted to try! Also, we caught a couple of new food network shows that inspired me, too: Melissa d’Arabian’s show (the next food network star) and the hilariously titled “what would Brian Boitano make.”

Blogging from the iPhone… Time to read a little ‘potato peel society,’ then sleep!

Office Space

Office: after

We worked in the office most of the weekend. It’s where all the extra stuff accumulates. And Mike was nice enough to work with me this time! He had mentioned once “I don’t really need any of that stuff in the closet down there.” So we decided it was time I take him up on that.

Mikey worked SO hard on that stuff this weekend. He was so busy in the space that I just tried to stay out of his way. Which means he’s WAY ahead of me on the clearing-out of things. (I have a ton of crafting stuff I’m trying to cut down on.)

Office: afterOur plans for the office were to just make some space. It’s too crowded down there to really enjoy working. Now, however, we could put an air mattress down there for extra guests, we could roll out a yoga mat if we wanted. Not only did we get rid of a ton of stuff (recycling, garbage, and Mike’s going to try to sell a bunch of stuff at work), but we also took down the large desktop that was part of one of our modular desks. We had WAY too much furniture in that room. It was Mike’s idea to just put the computer on one of the shelves, now that we have had that small iMac.

You can see the desk – it’s leaning up against the bookshelves. And look at all the floor you can see! It’s hard to tell in this old pic, but this is how it used to look (left).

We still have a long way to go. I really want that office to be more workable now that I’m working from home so much more. And, hey, Dan, you’ll actually have a room to sleep in when you visit!

Now if we didn’t have such a Monstery dog, we could get rid of that darn crate…

Queen Ruby

Oh, ruby. She had a rough week. Tuesday she had to get knocked out to have her teeth cleaned. All went well despite a horrendous case of plaque (and breath). She did have to have one tooth extracted, poor thing. A tiny front tooth had actually gotten broken at the root, probably a long time a go. They waged to remove it because it was wiggly and could cause problems. (she’s got a cute little gap now, like a second grader.)

She’s doing fine, as evidenced by this photo.
