Snoqualmie Falls

IMG_6798We’d been hearing that Snoqualmie Falls was a don’t miss attraction. So we decided to head out there on Sunday of our long weekend. It was a kinda rainy day, so we figured might as well go stand in the falls mist for an hour or so.

The falls are beautiful, as you can see. (People who watched Twin Peaks may know it as the town in which the show was set, and the falls are supposedly in opening credits.) There’s an overlook at the top, and a pretty steep hike down. (Not long, but steep! Cortny had a tough time getting back up the hill!)

When we were driving out of the town, we spotted a train – I googled it on my phone and found that the last one left in about 20 minutes. So we decided to hop on – the ride goes from the town to the next town, back again through town, to the other side of the falls and then back. It was about a 70 minute trip in all. The train was all antique, different mis-matched cars. Pretty cool.

I was in charge of the flip video camera, so we do have some video. We haven’t downloaded it yet. If there are any gems, I will post.

The rest of the weekend was great. Friday I finished my book, Saturday we did pretty much nothing, Sunday was yoga and the outing, and Monday was some more relaxing. We did some cooking and played some Price is Right on the Wii.

Mike has a picasa album of all the photos from the Falls. See them here.
