Wednesday

Wednesday is a good day… for TV.

We watched last night’s Lost (OMG), and ABC has The Middle and Modern Family. Both hilarious.

Then SOAP Net (yes, SOAP NET) shows my favorite new obsession – Being Erica. It’s a show from Canada in its second season. Features publishing, comedy, drama and — get this — time travel. So good! If you want to find out for yourself, you can watch it on Hulu.com. I’ve already seen on the episodes because we get CBC out here due to our proximity to Canada, but I didn’t get totally hooked until I went back and watched all of season one and could fully understand what was going on. Great show, wish the US networks would pick it up for real.

Today was acupuncture day for the humans in our house. Always a good day. It was bark day for the canine residents. (Every day is bark day, which is why I have talked to an in-home dog trainer….) More on that as it develops.

Caitlin’s visit

Yay, we love company!!

I’m thrilled that Caitlin came out, and we had a great time! Mike was away at a conference for the early part of our weekend, so it was nice to have the company.

She came in Friday night (late!) and we went straight to sleep. Saturday morning we went to a yoga class at our studio, then enjoyed brunch around the corner and went downtown for some shopping. Dinner was awesome at Ray’s Cafe — great view of the water at sunset, and excellent food. I love those crab cakes

Sunday we decided to go out to Northwest Trek — Caitlin got wind of it and we just had to go! (It’s a wildlife reserve, you go out in a tram and see moose, deer, bison, etc.) We had a great adventure. Home to see Mikey, catch another yoga class, and dinner at Volterra, one of Rachel Ray’s favorite restaurants. Yumm-O.

Monday was a girls’ trip to Victoria via the Victoria Clipper, a high speed boat. The boat ride was pretty fun (it takes a couple hours). We had tea at the Empress. (It’s THE thing to do, although I have to say the food left a little to be desired. The atmosphere did not, however, it was lovely.)

I was sorry to see her go Tuesday morning, but all good things must come to an end. So, who’s coming out next??
