Recently I was sucked into the Steig Larsson trilogy [The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, etc,] so I understand now why Mike has been staying up until about 1am finishing up the first book. Apparently, the dogs are staying up a little late as well. They have been in bed until about 11am the last two days.
It’s making it quite difficult to get up and moving in the morning, because I rarely get to snuggle with both my girls. It’s rarely even quiet in the morning.
Mike has finished his book and will likely go to bed at a reasonable hour tonight. We’ll see if this prevents the two Misses Lazybones from sleeping until noon.

How can you stay mad at a fuzzy Airedale face? So says Ruby. Tilly is still very much in trouble by me, but I have also forgiven her…
The dogs were angelic today, very very good. Just a few barks, that’s all. Matilda actually spent about three hours sleeping by herself on the couch.
I was talking with someone today about having a trainer come in for some of their unpleasant behavior, but it’s hard to think they need it sometimes! Mike and I have talked about it before, but I always conclue that we need to commit to being consistent and clear with them %100 of the time before I’m going to pay someone to tell me the same thing.
They’re like children (who don’t speak english). Everything they do I know is just a reflection of how we communicate with them. (if we get emotional and scream at them, they just keep on barking.) I try to remember that I need to be patient and crystal clear with them. And I need to remember to keep Tilly OUT of our bedroom unsupervised! That’s her snackin’ place….

I caught this happening the other day… The girls were sharing a toy. Well, Matilda thought they were sharing. I’m not sure Ruby knew they were sharing.
Anyway, they were gutting the stuffed kitty I won at the fair. I had to get up to get the phone which caused Tilly to get up, but before I captured this they had their little heads together. Ruby is de-stuffing, and then Tilly is sort of catching the fluff and munching on it. It was so funny.
I also snapped a photo of Ruby, exhausted from her kill. ;)
