Beauooooootiful day

Author: admin

Holy begeesus, today was AMAZING. Gorgeous. Sunny, warm. I have no idea where it came from. We earned it after a couple straight weeks of rain.

The puppies…. Mike’s caption for this was “my little sister is sooo lazy.”

We had a great weekend. I suppose they can feel a little more rewarding when you are going to a job every day. Yesterday we got up early and went to yoga, came home and both got a little home office work done, then headed out to haircut appointments. We went to La Isla for dinner. If you have never had Puerto Rican food and ever get the chance to try it, do!! So good: comforting, flavorful, great ingredients… and they have a guy at this restaurant who just makes mojitos all night.

Today I slept in (after taking care of their highnesses at 6am) and then we walked to Honore to have pastry and coffee. This afternoon we did a lot of cleaning inside and out. Mike also went out for a scooter ride to take advantage of the sun. He says it actually is even more fun in nice weather. And I finally got up some of the weeds that 4 months of rain have nurtured.

Someone very special had a birthday and a party this weekend. Happy Birthday, Jocelyn!!! We hope you had a very, very special day.

Workin’ 8 to 4

Thanks to this commute (above), those are my hours. Crossing Lake Washington on the 520 is not ideal – although it is fun. So for this placement I’ll be working 8 to 4. And so far, so good! Traffic was light both on the way there and home.

It was nice to see the folks at Master Builders again, since I worked there for a couple weeks about a year ago. Their regular designer had her little baby boy at the perfect time, and was already spending important time with him by the time I got in this morning.

By the way, I do not know how to use a PC! Everything took me two extra minutes. And I kept closing programs accidentally by closing windows I wanted to get out of the way (I like that my mac keeps those running, much to my husband’s dismay…)

So, today I had no trouble getting up at 6:15… we’ll see how well that goes tomorrow!!

Tomorrow I go back to work! I’ll get a break from these two…

Today we took the puppies for a walk. We were doing GREAT until the very end when Matilda threw a fit and then got tangled in her gentle leader… We also went to yoga at 4:30. It had been over a week for both of us, and the class was crowded (which means HOT.) It was tough! But good to get back, plus I’m enjoying my new yoga clothes. ;)

I put a bunch of videos on the links page — more of my favorite SNL sketches from recent years. I found a bunch on hulu today…

Back to the Jim Gaffigan special on Comedy Central…. we’ve been looking forward to some new Gaffigan.

Happy Travels

We’re back! It’s always nice to visit our hometown, and yet it’s also always nice to come home again. I like to be with my own puppies, sleeping in my own bed. Using my regularly sized liquid cosmetics.

Tessa entertained us by “using” the treadmill at Timmy & Rosie’s. Of course it wasn’t running. Tessa is very mobile now, but not quite mobile enough to use a running treadmill… maybe in a couple months – ha ha.

Our flight west was about as easy as our flight east was frustrating. We were scheduled to leave Seattle at 8 a.m. So we got up at five, and shortly after the alarms went off we received a text message letting us know our flight had been moved to ONE. So we freaked out a little, called several dissapointed people and then went back to bed. Right after we got up around 9:30 or so, we got another text that our flight had been moved back UP to eleven. So we had a “Home Alone” moment, and raced out of the house to get to the airport. We made it. They moved the flight another 45 minutes later after we got there. It was crazy. We must have called people five different times to change plans for the evening.

On the way home, however, we got in early. It was early enough to schedule pick up for the doggies so we didn’t have to miss them another night.

We enjoyed our trip!! It was fast, but we really enjoyed a lot of quality time with loved ones. Now if you’ll excuse me, Matilda is sleeping on my foot.

Goodnight, blog…

We’re about to head out in the morning for a little visit to the Midwest with the fams. Mom and Dad are on spring break, so we’ll catch the beginning of it. I apologize in advance to anyone I won’t see… this trip is mostly devoted to parents, siblings and a couple of meetings for both of us with people we’re still working with from here.

I’m going to miss my girls!!! I miss them already. They will be tired and less fuzzy when we pick them up. They’re getting groomed.

So goodnight, blog, for a few days. See you soon!
